Monday, October 31st 2022: What to Expect When Taking the Nevada Real Estate Licensing Exam

Before the Exam

Electronic fingerprinting is provided by Pearson VUE at the Las Vegas (Flamingo) and Reno test centers. Therefore, candidates at these testing centers are required to make advance reservations through MorphoTrust, USA in order to have their fingerprints captured on the exam date. Fingerprint appointments may be made online at: pearsonwest.ibtfingerprint.com, or by calling (866) 761-8069

You must make your fingerprint reservation using your full legal name (as it appears on your government-issued ID). Fingerprint fees are due at the time of the reservation.

Examination Day

Arrive about 30 minutes prior to your scheduled testing time to allow for check-in and to get situated. Latecomers will not be allowed to take the test, which will result in the loss of your registration fee! Be prepared for a photo during the check-in process, which will be on the testing report.

How long will the test take? Is there a time limit?

While the test itself has time limits for the completion of different sections, Nevada does not have a limit on the time between completion of the pre-license course to when you can schedule the state exam. Nevertheless, the sooner you schedule the licensing exam, the fresher the information will be in your mind.

The Exam includes two portions:

  • Combination (240 minutes)
  • General/National Portion (150 minutes)
  • State Portion (90 minutes)

Number of Questions on Sales License Exam:

  • Combination (120 questions)
  • National (80 questions)
  • State (40 questions)

Where do I schedule my appointment and can I make it online?

As a matter of fact, online reservations are the most convenient way for most candidates to schedule their examination.

All exams are appointment-only and must be taken in person at one of Nevada’s

What courses should I take to be prepared for this exam?

Although the state testing providers do not require proof of education, it's nevertheless helpful to take the pre-licensing course before taking the state licensing exam. The pre-licensing course helps prepare candidates for the actual business of real estate as well as the testing, with many of the exam questions based on the course.
